This lesson focuses on understanding the key areas of the TPC Desktop and how you’ll navigate between the tools and views you use every day. We call it Obvious Navigation—with toolbars and menus that make it easy to access what you need, when you need it.
We’ll start with the Navigation Toolbar, where you’ve already seen how to open the Survey Information. From there, we’ll explore the Managers menu and show you how each Manager—like Points, Traverses, and Drawings—is docked on the desktop for easy access. You’ll open each Manager and see how they help you organize your data.
Next, we’ll move to the Windows Menu, where you can access the different views of your survey—like Report View and Drawing View. You’ll learn that there’s one Report View and one Drawing View, but each can manage multiple reports or drawings that you can create, save, and reopen as needed.
We’ll also discuss layout tips—like how most users prefer to keep multiple windows open rather than tabbing between them, giving you a more flexible and efficient workflow.
By the end of this lesson, you’ll be comfortable navigating the TPC Desktop and accessing the tools and views you’ll use throughout every survey.
